Greenvision 2009 Phto Exhibition starts tomorrow

The Greenvision 2009 Nature Phto Exhibition starts tomorrow (19th Wednesday) at Museum Hall, Thiruvananthapuram. The show will be inaugurated by Smt. P. Vijayakumari Amma, Director, Museum. This will be followed by the released of Greens Newsletter by Shri. A. Firoz, Deputy Directo, Information & Public Relations Department.

The Phto Exhibition will last upto 23rd August. The Exhibition time will be from 10 am to 6 pm.

August 22 Saturday

Nature Paiting Competition for lower primary, upper primary and high school students.

August 23 Sunday

Valedectory Function at 5 pm. Inauguration by Smt. Sheela Thomas IAS, Secretary to the Chief Minister of Kerala

Greenvision 2009 Results

Sri. Joshy Manjummel, Ernakulam, Kerala got first prize in the Greenvision 2009 All India Nature Photo Competition for his photo titled, Drinking. Sri. Aasish Bathery, also from Kerala, got second prize for his photo, Mother and Baby.

Sarvashree Somenath Mukhopadhyay (Larva in Paddy Field), Bidhan Ch. Mondal (Due Hunter), (both from West Bengal), K.M. Narayanaswamy IFS (Pheasant tailed Jacana with chick), (Karnataka), Dr. Kalesh S.(Whispers from a Silent World), (Kerala) and Saikat Ganguly (Playing Mood) (West Bengal) got Consolation Prizes.

Merit Certificates are awarded to Sarvashreee K.S. Sajan (Tasty Meal), Satheesh Kumar (Thorn is comfortable to us) (both from Kerala), J. Suresh (The Exiled), Tamil Nadu, Shajikumar K.A. (Dusk), Kerala and Sushaman Kadayil (Lines on Water), Kerala.

Sarvashree Mohanan Perunthani (AFIAP), K.V. Uthaman, Anil Bhaskar, K. Hariharan Nair (Representative of I & PRD) and G. Sankaranarayana (Greens representative) comprise the judging committee.

Opinion of the Judges



Almost all pictures are outstanding. Jury members are unanimous in selecting the prize winning photographs. But are of the opinion that the print quality of 50 per cent of the pictures are poor. Entries regarding wildlife seems insufficient. Almost all pictures are digitally treated.
