Result of Greenvision 2008 All IndiaNature Photography Competition
Results of Fifth All India Nature Photographic Competition, Green Vision 2008, have been declared. Smt. Rupali Mondal, 24 Parghanas (N), West Bengal won first prize of Rs.5000. Shri Shridhar D. Shelke, Belgham, Karnataka won the Rs. 3000 second prize. Five consolation prizes of Rs.1000 each are won by (1) Shri. H. Sathish, Bangalaru (2) Shri. Ramzeen M.R., Kollam (3) Shri. Narayan D. Guidelines for conducting the
Programme
I. The painting competition may be conducted on or before 15.08.2008 and the best five entries have to be sent to our office on or before 20.08.2008.
II. The final selection will be from among all the entries from the State (5 from each district).
III. From these, 20-25 best ones will be short listed and invited to Thiruvananthapuram for another painting competition among them and the first three will be chosen for awards.
IV. Any colouring medium can be used and the paper size for painting is A3.
V. The award (Ist prize – Rs.5000/ + Certificate; IInd prize – Rs.3000/ + Certificate; IIIrd prize – Rs.2000/ + Certificate) for the winners will be given away by the Honourable Minister for Forests in a function at VJT Hall, Thiruvananthapuram on 31st August 2008 organised by the GREENS.

Inter Institutional Greens Quiz 2008
Greens, the Nature lovers’ forum in the Government Secretariat, proposes to conduct an Inter–Institutional Quiz Competition for the Employees of the State and Central Government/ Semi Government/Public Sector Undertakings including Banks functioning in Thiruvananthapuram district. The application form given below may be downloaded for applying. Rules and other details are followed below the application
RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. It is a team quiz consisting of Two Members in each team and the subjects are Nature, Environment and life science
2. There shall be a written test in the preliminary round. SIX teams will be selected for the final round.
3. Each team shall bring identification documents from the Head of their Institutions to prove their identity in the format attached.
4. Cash prize will be awarded to the first, second and third places
5. The secretariat staff who are interested to take part in the competition, may register their names before the Secretary GREENS, on or before 5.00 pm on 19.04.2008
6. The written preliminary round will be held at 3 PM on 22.04 08 (Tuesday) at Museum Auditorium, Thiruvananthapuram and thereafter the final round will be held in the same venue.
7. The team shall report at the venue half an hour before the preliminary round.
8. The final Quiz will be bilingual i.e. in English and Malayalam
9. In case of dispute, regarding the Quiz Competition, the decision of the Quiz Master and GREENS shall be final.
10.Those participants other than Secretariat Employees who are interested to take part in the competition shall submit the duly filled application on or before 5 p.m. on 19th March, 2008 with Sri P.R. Sreekumar Greens, Manager, VJT Hall, Thiruvananthapuram

Seminar on Athirappilly Hydro-Electric Project
Athirappilly Hydro Electric Project - Technical and Economic Facts and Realitieson 14th February 2008 at YMCA Hall, Thiruvananthapuram. The winner of 2003 Global Indus Technoveters Award and researcher in River Research Centre at Thrissur, Sri. C.G. Madhusoodanan will deliver the keynote address. Prof. M.K. Prasad, Dr. R.V.G.
